Happy New Year! 2021 passed so quickly. It seems just weeks ago that the former twice impeached and disgraced former president encouraged insurrection at the Capitol. I am anticipating great things to happen this in 2022. I will be paroled from Count II this summer and Commuted from count III. I remain hopeful that the Oklahoma Criminal Justice Reassessment Coordination Council will suggest key pieces of legislation that may see me home by this time next year.
By the numbers it has been: 4638 days since my prodigal Absolom/Kylo "ran away" on 4-22-2009 and he last spoke to me 4455 days since Myrtha's lie (see blog 10-21-2021) 4259 days since my 5-5-2010 arrest 3410 days since my unjust conviction and incarceration 3207 days since I last saw my daughter on 3-23-2013 2833 days since I last spoke to my daughter on 4-1-2014 929 days since I last received an e-mail from my daughter. My recent move to Granite continues to prove to be a God inspired blessing. If I could just get a job in the canteen I would feel restored to everything lost at Crabtree two years ago. It is so nice to be on an open yard with older gentlemen who just want to quietly serve their time. I typically do not do New Years Resolutions, rather I write out my Core Values for the year. I have identified 9 Core Values for 2022: 1. Loves God and love others 2. 1190113 - Do Not Be Two-faced: As the moon reflects the sun, I will reflect the Son in my character, conduct, and conversation. I will have trust without worry, faith without doubt, hope without despair, show love without condition, give God glory without reservation, live in peace without fear, have joy without a roof, suffer without shame, serve without reserve, wait without fret, obey without delay, and show compassion without judgement; I will be trustworthy, loyal, helpful friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent; I will be physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. 3. 663423 = N O D I C E Proverbs 16:33-people may roll dice to make a decision, but it is the Lord that directs their steps: I will follow His compass and not my clock. 4. Be my authentic self. 5. Forgive 6. Exercise my gifts: from God (Romans 12) to teach and serve from Christ (Ephesians 4) to teach and equip from the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians) for faith and discernment 7. Trust the Lord Jehovah Shalom for truth and justice 8. Trust the Lord Jehovah Raffa that through his stripes I am healed. 9. Keep a Wabi Sabi mind set I continue to work on my Parole packet (see The Narrative at 9-1-2021 ) and my Commutation packet (see 12-08-2021). To that end I am creating my "going home" playlist: 1. Shine Bright like a Diamond (b\c it played incessantly on the only radio station I could pick up in cell X of J-pod of Tulsa County) 2. Farrell's Happy 3. Come on get Happy from the Partridge Family 4. ABBA's Mamma Mia soundtrack 5. The Greatest Showman soundtrack 6. Disney's Newsies soundtrack 7. Hairspray soundtrack I am also compiling my "first meal" list. It involves a stop at Walmart: 1. quarter pound bowl of deli broccoli salad with real bacon 2. a block each of premium Cheddar, Monterey jack, and Colby cheese 3. one each of a banana, nectarine, peach, green apple, avocado, green seedless grapes, apricot, hot house organic cherry tomatoes, 4. can of premium mixed nuts (no peanuts) 5. can of pineapple 7. package of dehydrated fruit mix with mango, blueberries, gogi berries, cranberries, golden raisins, sunflower seeds, coconut, etc 8. gallon of Blue Diamond or McAlisters's Deli sweet tea 9. Chic-fila sandwich and waffle fries or Panera Bacon Turkey Bravo sandwich. May God bless us all and allow us to be together this time next year!
